Excuse me for the lack of updates. I have been very busy in real life as well as with other sites. For the time being I simply haven’t got the time nor the motivation to actively maintain this little tribute page. However, I really adore Emily Mortimer and won’t forget this place. When I return - hopefully not in the too distant future - the site will come back on a much larger scale. Stay tuned and thank you for your patience!

30 Rock Season 2
Posted by Mia on April 28, 2007

First Season of ‘30 Rock’ is over now and Writer/Executive Producer Tina Fey answered some questions on a Live Blog. There will be a DVD later and when asked about future guest stars she said amongst other things: “Oh gosh! I would love to have Emily Mortimer back…was she British, was she faking it?” So we may get to see more of Phoebe, Jack Donaghy’s (played by Alec Baldwin) fiancée, an art dealer who says she suffers from avian bone syndrome and cannot be touched.

30 Rock

According to TV Fodder Emily Mortimer guest-starred in the TV Series ‘30 Rock‘ in the episode ‘Corporate Crush’. She played Phoebe, an employee at Christie’s, who has the odd habit of assuming nobody remembers her, pointing it out, and introducing herself repeatedly. If you live in the US you can still catch it online at the show’s official site.

[edit] As I have just found out, Emily Mortimer will continue to guest-star as Phoebe in at least the next 2 episodes: ‘Cleveland’ (April 19) and ‘Hiatus’ (April 26). The show airs on NBC at 9.00 pm.

Lars and the Real Girl
Posted by Mia on April 5, 2007

The first reviews of Emily’s upcoming romantic comedy ‘Lars and the Real Girl’ also starring Ryan Gosling and Patricia Clarkson have emerged on Ain’t it Cool. Read them here and here. They’re making me want to see this as soon as possible!

“Unlike Little Miss Sunshine, this is an indie comedy with real soul, not all too perfectly quirky characters whose lives fall apart according to the jokes. What struck me is how amazingly real the premise is played, never pandering to the comedy and never pushing false profundity and hope on us. Instead it allows its characters to breathe and through that the story flourishes instead of becoming a slave to gags. What you see, rather than a comedy, is human beings reacting to a situation that happens to be comedic the way you or I would. And while it’s an absolutely hilarious film, the filmmakers (and Gosling) never shy away from the fact that Lars is a very troubled individual with incredibly deep seeded insecurities, and as a result we have some very funny scenes punctuated with heart breaking drama.

A big nod also belong to Paul Schneider and the ethereal Emily Mortimer as Lars’s brother and sister in law.”

Transsiberian
Posted by Mia on April 3, 2007

According to an interview with Kate Mara published on Movies Online on March 20, Transsiberian finished shooting.

“I just finished a film last week called “Trans Siberian,” totally different than anything I’ve ever done. It’s an independent film with Woody Harrelson and Sir Ben Kingsley. It’s a big ensemble cast — Emily Mortimer, it’s such a really interesting cast. We shot it in Lithuania and the crew was Spanish and the director Brad Anderson is American. Woody and I are both Americans, but Emily Mortimer and Sir Ben Kingsley are both British. And then there’s Eduardo Noriega who’s the other guy in it who’s Spanish. And then there’s all these Lithuanian extras. It was the most bizarre set to be on, but a really interesting dark sort of thriller.”

Welcome
Posted by Mia on March 29, 2007

Welcome to my little tribute page to the British actress Emily Mortimer. I first really noticed her in Dear Frankie - her amazing performance just left me in awe. I’ve since discovered many of her other films and wanted to show my support. So far it’s only the Gallery that has loads of content - but expect more additions soon.
