“City Island” to premiere at Tribeca
Posted by Mia on March 12, 2009

Yesterday’s announcement of the full line-up for the Tribeca Film Festival ‘09 includes City Island, which features Emily Mortimer in a small but significant supporting role. It will have its world premiere in the “Encounters” section.

Sponsored by L’Oreal Paris, this collection of world premieres includes ten engaging narrative features and documentaries, with a mixture of dark comedies and lighter fare.

City Island
Vinnie’s been secretly taking acting classes, his daughter’s moonlighting as a stripper, his son’s got a weighty fetish, and mom’s eye is wandering… the Rizzos might get along a lot better if they weren’t keeping so many secrets. Andy Garcia, Julianna Margulies, Emily Mortimer, and Alan Arkin star in this smart and poignant dysfunctional-family comedy, set in unassuming City Island.

The festival runs April 22 - May 3. To find out about screening times and Q&A panels with cast (hopefully Emily will attend) and crew be sure to regularly check the official movie blog.

Status of “City Island”
Posted by Mia on February 11, 2009

Last summer Emily Mortimer shot a movie called “City Island“. According to the movie’s offical blog, there were two screenings for potential buyers in LA and New York during the last week of January. In both cases the audience reaction was really good. Also, the premiere will take place this spring at a major film festival - name to be revealed. Isn’t all this fabulous news?!

In addition I’ve also added screencaps of the show and of the BBC3 red carpet coverage - let’s hope you spot Emily in all the captures. Hint: If you have a hard time finding her look on the outer parts of the pics for her.

A lovely looking Emily made an appearance at yesterday’s BAFTA ceremony at the Royal Opera House in London. Together with my favourite actor Matthew Macfadyen she presented Best Make Up & Hair to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (after he did Best Production Design). Video will be up soon!

If anyone spotted Emily in any of the red carpet coverages and would be able to send in a clip I’d be more than happy!
